Learn more and become part of our mission
ASOCIACIÓN JULIA TUPAQ YUPANQUI
I hope you have been reading my previous post about the testimonial of my mission and work here in the Sacred Valley of Peru.
This is post number II to share more about our work.
1. Our Mission and VisioN
Our Mission
We promote Sumaq Kawsay – the Good Life – and are committed to healing the impacts of colonization, which in Peru are embodied by the phenomenon of the hacienda system. We honor the cultural identity and pay tribute to the ancestral heritage of the Andean region.
Our Vision
We see ourselves as a leading and referent organization, highly respected in society and among our national and international strategic partners.
We are a highly ethical, professional and innovative team that works to influence in the social and political sphere for the Good Life.
2. Our Work – Our Fields of Action
A. Raising awareness
We promote social and political awareness of the deep wounds that the Andean-Amazonian population bears on many levels—as a result of colonisation and the hacienda system in Peru, which is still effective today.
(Events, retreats, lectures, seminars and cultural encounters)
B. Accompaniment
We accompany individuals and groups who are dealing with the effects of colonisation and the hacienda era and who want to heal these wounds (mentally, emotionally, in action).
(Therapeutic, medical and ritual accompaniment)
C. Revitalisation and promotion of Andean cultural practices, values and heritage
We preserve the Andean heritage and values of Sumaq Kawsay – the Good Life.
(Financial support for the continuation, recognition and strengthening of Andean-Amazonian cultural practices)
D. Fundraising
We create partnerships with strategic supporters, donors and institutions that share our vision.
E. Strengthening institutional structures
We strengthen, promote and develop the competences of our team.
(Regular meetings to promote personal well-being, study circles and further training)
3. Why We Need Your Support
We are an organisation driven by awareness and inner motivation.
To date, we have worked without external funding and without a fixed budget—based solely on our commitment to our mission and some contributions from the people who place their trust in us. This ensures sustainable growth in order to achieve our goals in the long term.
That is why we need the collective conscience that we all are,
so that together we can heal this historical wound, reclaim and reaffirm its identity and help create new pathways to good lives and dignity for local people.
Together, we can build a more just, equitable and harmonious future
based on those values and that ancient wisdom that connects us to the earth, all living beings and the entire cosmos.
